Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player secured his initial championship for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, achieving just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-term trainer Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface after that period of the previous year.

Victory also means he has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, including in Halle previously this season.

His retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led commentators to wonder if his capacity to compete at the top level was concluded.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to come to the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an better serving game.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the last five games to take the lead.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden tour title, gained dominance to force a final set.

Moutet saved four early-game chances in a tight final set before the champion secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
